Dr Khimling Tew is an experienced General Surgeon who has had specialty training in melanoma, skin cancer and breast cancer surgery. He specialises in sentinel node surgery for cancer. He also performs breast, hernia, endoscopy, laparoscopic and thyroid surgery.
He graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 1998 before training at Royal North Shore Hospital and the Northern Sydney Area Health network of hospitals. He was awarded the Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) degree in 2005 for a treatise on sentinel node surgery in breast cancer. In the same year, he was admitted as a Fellow in General Surgery to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
In 2006, he undertook specialised training in breast cancer surgery and reconstruction as the Breast Oncology Clinical Fellow at the NSW Breast Cancer Institute, Westmead Hospital. In 2007, he was the NSW Cancer Institute Clinical Fellow in melanoma surgery at the Sydney Melanoma Unit, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
He is a member of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Breast Section and complies with their audit programme.
