
Associate Professor George Condous

An Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Nepean Clinical School, University of Sydney, Associate Professor George Condous is a specialist in Gynaecological Ultrasound and Advanced Endosurgery. He performs Advanced Endosurgery procedures for women who need intervention for pelvic masses, frozen pelvis, endometriosis and hysterectomy. Professor Condous runs the Acute Gynaecology Unit (the first of its kind in Australia) at Nepean Hospital that sees more than 3,000 women annually with emergency gynaecological and early pregnancy complications including miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.
Professor Condous is director of OMNI Gynaecological Care www.omnigynaecare.com.au. This ultrasound-based clinic reviews women with abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, adnexal pathology (ovarian cysts) as well as post-menopausal bleeding. This centre of excellence utilises the latest 3D/4D technology performing all types of pregnancy scans including the nuchal translucency, morphology and fetal well- being/growth scans.
In 2006, he was appointed Associate Professor at Nepean Hospital. In 2007, Professor Condous was awarded the Beresford Buttery Teaching Fellow by the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. He is also the founder of the Early Pregnancy and Gynaecological Scanning Foundation.
Professor Condous has edited the “Handbook of Early Pregnancy Care” and is published in a number of international journals. His work in Early Pregnancy is internationally renowned and current research projects include management of ectopic pregnancy, pregnancies of unknown location (PULs), miscarriage, and use of transvaginal ultrasound, particularly sonovaginography, to predict deep rectovaginal endometriosis.
